Club Mentoring Programme

Reigate Photographic Society Mentoring Reigate Photographic Society offers a mentoring scheme to members and potential members, tapping into the skills base within the Society. It is an excellent way to get involved with the Society and get to know some of our better photographers.

Whether you are a beginner or an improver your needs can be catered for. Anyone wishing to take part will need to outline their skill level, camera type and the areas where they feel help is needed, and a suitable mentor will be identified. Meetings between the two will be as frequent as needed. Sessions are expected to last no more than 2 hours and a small charge per session will be made.

Understanding the camera, photographic theory, practical sessions with the camera, and computer skills in image editing software are within the scope of the scheme. A further programme of practical sessions is planned, to allow further development of skills.

The Reigate Photographic Society Flickr site will be used to post images for discussion, when a broad spread of mentors can give feedback.

This scheme runs in parallel to the Skills Group for Society members, where prints can be shown to a small group of members for comment and advice. The Skills Group can also offer assistance to those preparing for a photographic distinction. This group meets bi-monthly during the Society season, September to May.

The mentoring scheme operates throughout the year.
